Serving South Central Oklahoma for 22 Years

Since 1996, Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc.'s (GSCC) healthcare team of compassionate, professional staff and volunteers have consistently provided thousands of people in South Central Oklahoma with accessible, medical, dental and pharmaceutical services in addition to helping them connect to other necessary social resources such as food and behavioral healthcare with the hope of improving their overall quality of life by caring for the whole patient.

Each year, individuals from all over South Central Oklahoma who lack affordable healthcare access receive quality care for everything from the common cold to serious chronic diseases, abscessed teeth, and access to otherwise unaffordable medications through an integrated care team approach.

Built upon the commitment and vision of a dedicated group of providers and volunteers, the GSCC has grown from the original Tuesday night volunteer clinic in a small rental house treating 85 patients in 1996 to a full-time innovative healthcare facility caring for more than 2,500 socio-economically disadvantaged patients annually.

Today, with the vision to build healthy people and thus a healthy community, the GSCC Team is committed to promoting patient wellness with an emphasis on prevention as well as education on important health factors like nutrition, disease self-management and physical activity.  Evidence of this commitment to "build healthy people" can be seen in the way we practice.  It's something you need to experience, so come for a visit!

Medical Program

Our medical team is committed to the GSCCs vision to "build healthy people."

Our proactive focus and integrated approach to caring for the whole person allows the GSCC to provide quality and affordable healthcare to thousands of patients each year who might otherwise do without.

The GSCC is the only charity clinic of its kind within a 100 mile radius of Ardmore, Oklahoma and the largest rural charity clinic in the state. We primarily serve the working poor and others who lack access to affordable healthcare in South Central Oklahoma.

Our comprehensive wellness initiative allows patients to benefit from services such as nutrition and disease education, chronic disease management, health risk assessments, case management and assistance with accessing and navigating various other social services.

The GSCC is now proudly serving the healthcare needs of children and expecting mothers.

Dental Program

A Dental Program was added to the our list of services soon after the Good Shepherd opened in 1996.

Our Dental Program offers patients oral health care education and instruction, oral examinations, hygiene services, diagnosis and treatment of tooth decay and periodontal disease as well as provide emergency extractions for patients through the work of a part-time staff dentist and a part-time hygienist plus several volunteer dentists, dental assistants and hygienists.

Dental care remains problematic for the patients we serve; patients who experience barriers to oral care due to financial barriers. Emergency extractions are the most common solution for our patients, due to years of dental health neglect but the GSCC is working to move our patients toward prevention.

The GSCC has recently strengthened our focus on preventative dental care and is now providing additional dental care services including cleanings, fillings as well as dental services for children.

Pharmacy Program

Our Pharmacy Program provides more than $3 million (wholesale cost) in no-cost medications to our patients annually through twenty-five various pharmaceutical company's Prescription Assistance Programs.

Our part-time Pharmacist along with our Prescription Assistance Coordinators work diligently to acquire and dispense various life sustaining medications like asthma inhalers, insulin, blood pressure medications in order to assist the GSCC patients with obtaining otherwise unaffordable medications.
